Silchar, June 28: Barak Hindi Sahitya Samiti (BHSS) felicitated 122 meritorious students of Barak Valley on Monday. The rank holders in HSLC and Higher Secondary, highest mark holders in each subject in the state, those who secured more than 80% mark in Hindi and Hindi speaking students with more than 70% marks on average were felicitated. The function was graced by Amarth Khandelwal as chief guest, Susmita Dev, MP, as guest of honour, Rajdip Goala, MLA, and special guests, Sourendra Kumar Bhattacharjee and Subhoda Pandey.
All the speakers appreciated the step taken by BHSS and Rajdip Goala for sponsoring the felicitation in memory of his father late Dinesh Prasad Goala. Balark Publication sponsored books for the students. The programme took place at Hindi Bhawan here. Susmita Dev announced a dotion of Rs.10 lakh for infrastructure development of the Hindi Bhawan. The packed audience was delighted at the encouragement and inspiration given to the meritorious students in order to pursue their higher studies with the same zeal and determition. Babul Kanu ably anchored the programme.
