Barak Lok Mancha to hold talent search event

Silchar, June 10: Barak Upatyaka Lok Mancha will organize a programme in order to find out talents with sweet voices. Budding artistes will get a chance to sing. It has been felt by the Lok Mancha that only seasoned artistes have been performing here and as such fresh and new talents should get an opportunity to showcase their talents. It was stated at a press-meet held by Sarif Uz Zaman, an important functiory of the  Manch, in the premises of the Government Boy’s High School here today.

 Sarif Uz Zaman, said, “The competition titled ‘Barak Shera Lok Kontho 2016’ in which participants from 16 to 50 years can be able to participate. However, this time we have added a new clause that none from any graded artiste from the All India Radio and members of Barak Upatyaka Lok Mancha can participate in the competition.”

 Sarif Uz Zaman added that auditions will be conducted at Karimganj on July 14, Hailakandi on July 17. Since more participants are being expected from this district, auditions dates have been fixed as July 23 and July 24 for Cachar in the District Library Auditorium. “A workshop on Lok Gaan or Sangeet will be conducted on July 26, 27, and 28. Four judges-cum-mentors have been invited for the purpose. These judges will train the participants and then conduct various song tests. Renowned singers like Pur Chandra Roy and Nishi Kanta Boiragi, who have the competitiveness on the songs of most popular singer Bijoy Sarkar. Along with that Sali Akhtar Chumki and Shahhaz Babu, the latter is popularly known as ‘Junior Mumtaz’ from Bangladesh, have been invited,” added Sarif Uz Zaman.

 It has been informed that the grand file will be held for two days, July 29 and July 30. Following the file, the invited singers will perform on July 30 and July 31. “Willing participants will have to buy a form worth Rs.10 and then enroll by paying the entry fees of Rs.100. All the members of Lok Mancha will be active and would like to help the participants,” he added.
