Barak students' body felicitates Assam University VC

SILCHAR, May 21: All Cachar-Karimganj-Hailakandi Students’ Association (ACKHSA) felicitated Professor Dilip Chandra th, the new Vice-Chancellor of Assam University. Representatives of the association visited his office on May 18 and felicitated the Vice-Chancellor. Birendra Kumar Singha, president of ACKHSA showered honour upon the Professor and congratulated him for his new post. Rupam ndi Purkayastha, former president and present advisor to ACKHSA, presented Professor th a banquet.

Among others who felicitated the new Vice-Chancellor include, Dhruva Jyoti Gupta, advisor to ACHKSA, Biswajit Dey, Rajiv Paul and Sandeep Roy, convenors of the Association. ACKHSA said that the University is the fruitful result of a decade-long revolution carried out by them. The members of ACKHSA requested the Vice-Chancellor to grant permission to start Upendra th Brahma Memorial Hall. ACHKSA mentioned that Bodoland Territorial Council, chief, Hagrama Mohiliry, doted fund for constructing the Hall.

Professor Dilip Chandra th assured the ACKHSA delegation that he will give his best and take the University to new heights. Professor th expressed his hope of getting support from all sections of students, teaching and non-teaching staff in his endeavour. He also said that he will try to introduce Certificate courses in all minority languages. Such a move will represent equality among the minority communities.
