Barcelo chief confident club will retain La Liga title

Barcelo, April 22: FC Barcelo president Josep Maria Bartomeu has said that he is totally convinced the club will win La Liga this football season, pointing out that the team’s main aim is to bring together the La Liga title and the Copa del Rey.

“I am convinced that we will win La Liga,” Efe quoted Bartomeu as saying on Thursday.

The club’s president seemed euphoric following Wednesday’s 8-0 win against Deportivo La Coru, which put an end to the point-bleeding rally during the past four weeks.

Bartomeu was under the spotlight on Thursday when the model of the new Camp Nou was unveiled.

Currently Barcelo lead the La Liga table with 79 points, ahead of Atletico Madrid on goal difference.

Barcelo have already reached the Copa del Rey fil against Sevilla on May 22. IANS
