GAURISAGAR, Aug 20: tiol Agriculture Bank for Rural Development (BARD) organized a day-long book keeping training programme recently for the functiories of Self Help Groups (SHG) in association with Assam Gramin Vikash Bank (AGVB), Moran Branch under Mahmora Development block in Sivasagar district, at the conference hall of Youth Club, Kachumari Chariali, Moran.
The dignitaries who attended the function were Lakheswar Mahanta, District Development Mager (DDM), BARD, Sivasagar, Prasant Kumar Dev, Regiol Mager, AGV Bank, Dibrugarh office , ndeswar Saikia, Senior Mager, Credit department, AGV Bank, Regiol office, Dibrugarh, Jyost Baruah, president, Milon Gaon Panchayat, Puspadhar Neog, Fince Secretary, NGO Krishak Nyas and also resource person, SIRD, Joysagar Extension Centre, Aditya Goswami, Branch Mager, AGVB, Moran Branch and Rajib Dutta, social worker and jourlist.
Addressing the gathering, Prasant Kumar Dev highlighted the objectives of SHG formation and development strategies. Lakheswar Mahanta, emphasized SHG movement, its formation procedures and credit support by the bank. He also dwelt at length on insurance policies like Pradhan Mantir Surakshya Bima Yoja (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantir Jibon Jyoti Bima Yoja (PMJJY) and Atal Pension Yoja (APY) and appealed to the gathering to take its opportunities.
Puspadhar Neog imparted training to the SHG functiories on record keeping, maintaining of cash book (single and double entry), ledger book and proceeding book. In the function AGV Bank Moran Branch provided Rs 12.62 lakh loan to 25 SHGs and three weavers for tailoring, piggery, tea nursery, poultry and weaving.
