BARD organizes book-keeping training programme

GAURISAGAR, Sept 20: tiol Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (BARD)  organized a  day-long  book-keeping training programme for SHG members  at Charing  Siva Kanta  Duarah Rajahuwa Bhavan under Gaurisagar Development Block, Sivasagar in association with Assam Gramin Vikash Bank (AGV) Charing branch on Wednesday.

 The training programme was formally iugurated by Tuwaram Khanikar, noted orator and former Professor, SMD College, Charing. Addressing the gathering,  the noted educationist urged upon the SHG member  to work devotedly  for improving their  livelihood as well as for development of the country.

Participating in the training programme, District Development Mager (DDM) of BARD Lakheswar Mahanta rrated briefly the various schemes of BARD. He even highlighted the insurances schemes launched by the Union Government like Pradhan Mantir Surakshya Bima Yoja (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantir Jibon Jyoti Bima Yoja (PMJJBY) and Atal Pension Yoja (APY). The DDM also appealed to the SHG members to take opportunity of these insurance schemes. Puspadhar Neog emphasized single and double entry book-keeping process. After the training a total Rs.25.95 lakh loan was provided to 17 SHGs and JLGs for income-generating activities. A total of 96  participants took part in the  training programme.
