BARD organizes fincial literacy awareness programme at zira

GAURISAGAR, December 23: tiol Agriculture Bank For Rural Development (BARD) organized a Fincial Literacy Awareness Programme (FLAP) at Nirmalia village, zira in association with Phenhujali, a NGO under zira Development Block.

In the function Lakheswar Mahanta, District Development Mager, BARD, Sivasagar, Ankan Langthasa, Branch Mager, Cara Bank, zira Branch, Dr Jagadish Barman, Veteriry Officer, zira, Dr Devajit Deka, Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) Krishi Vigyan Kendra, zira and Rajib Dutta, publicity secretary, Krishak Nyas took part as resource persons.

In the programme Ankan Langthasa spoke about the importance of saving, KCC loan and insurance. He also highlighted the process of account opening. In his speech, Lakheswar Mahanta, DDM, BARD, Sivasagar highlighted the importance of banking, savings and fincial planning. He also spoke about Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yoja (PMJDY), Pradhan Montri Bima Suraksha Yoja (PMBSY), Pradhan Montri Jibon Jyoti Bima Yoja (PMJJBY) and Atal Pension Yoja (APY). In his speech Dr Jagadish Barman rrated the brief objective of the programme and urged upon the cultivators to save their hard-earned money for their future and life security.

In the function Dr Devajit Deka and Rajib Dutta spoke on the topic and urged upon the cultivators to give importance to savings and fincial magement. A total of 75 cultivators hailing from Nirmalia and Sundarpukhuri village took part in the progarmme and exchanged views with the resource persons regarding savings and insurance policies. In programme a few cultivators opened bank accounts on the spot.
