BARD witnesses a positive growth

GUWAHATI, April 2: BARD Assam Regiol Office witnessed a positive growth in business areas during 2014-15 as indicated by A P Sandilya, Chief General Mager, BARD, Assam Regiol Office in a press release issued today.

BARD has disbursed Rs.97.06 crore to State Co-operative Bank and Regiol Rural Banks against the target of 96.00 crore, thereby achieving 101.1% of the target for Short Term Seasol Agricultural Operations.

Under Investment Credit, refince assistance of Rs.245.85 crore has been released to Regiol Rural Banks and Commercial Banks for long term operations against a target of Rs.264 crore showing an achievements of 93%. Disbursement of Refince Assistance under Investment Credit has increased from Rs.108.32 crore in 2013-14 to Rs.245.85 crore in 2014-15, registering an impressive growth of 127%. Release of Refince Assistance under Investment Credit to RRBs has gone up to Rs.170.18 crore in 2014-15 recording quantum jump of almost 15 times from Rs.11.67 crore in 2013-14.

BARD has been able to make success in getting a good number of Agri infrastructure projects. Out of the total  RIDF sanction of Rs.626.31 crore, Agriculture and related sectors’ share was Rs.334.84 crore (53%) and Road Connectivity with Rs.291.47 crore (47%).

Sandilya also said that under Warehouse Infrastructure Fund (WIF), BARD has sanctioned Rs.47.16 crore for two Multi Commodity Cold Storage projects in Assam against the target of Rs.40 crore during 2014-15 showing an achievement of 118%.  This was stated in a press release.
