Barpeta District Transport Officer: High Charges Levied on Vehicles in Various Places of Pathsala, Assam

PATHSALA, July 25: A Fine of Rs. 28,000 was collected by the Enforcement staff of DTO Barpeta and Apurba Nath, magistrate of Bajali subdivision, with the help of police during a random checking of vehicles at various places of Pathsala on Tuesday. During checking, 97 vehicles were fined for violating MV rules and a fine amounting to Rs. 28,800 was collected and documents of 31 vehicles were seized. Moreover, one motorcycle was also seized during the checking.

Due to rise in the number of road mishaps, especially involving two-wheelers, the authorities concerned have taken measures to check reckless driving and traffic rule violation. This has been widely appreciated by the people.
