Basar Model College to function soon: Gadi

Itagar, March 1: The proposed model college at Basar in West Siang district will start functioning from this academic session, PWD Minister Gojen Gadi announced while iugurating the electrical division office building on Saturday.

With the state government giving top priority attention to the education sector, more higher and technical institutions would be set up in various parts of the state to meet the growing expectation of the knowledge seeker, he said.

Committee headed by Basr ADC has been formed to look after the requirements of infrastructure for class rooms and accommodation of the teaching staff, he said, adding the college would end the suffering of the students who have been going to Kamki Government College, located 80 km away from here and about 180 km from Likabali. The minister lauded the engineers for completing the office building in a record one year, whose foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister bam Tuki last year.

Such development initiatives of the present government headed by CM Tuki reflected its people-friendly policies to translate its promises into action without people asking for its repeatedly, said zilla parishad member Janya Basar, adding this should be emulated by all departments for their programmes and projects to benefit the masses. Power CE (Central zone) Takar Mara, Aalo SE M Jini, the HoDs headed by the ADC, PRI leaders and people were present on the occasion.
