Baseball Camp Begins with Chaos in Nehru Stadium Guwahati

GUWAHATI: District Level Inter-School Baseball championship, State coaching and selection camp/Officiating examination got under way with a bug chaos at the Nehru stadium here today. A section of former players, their guardians and coaches raised protest alleging that previous committee led by its secretary Ashma Begum, involved in huge ‘anomalies’ and it’s ruined the game in the State. They also raised the validity of the current committee which was constituted recently.

The trouble began just at the beginning of the inaugural function and the organizers were forced to complete the entire programme quickly.

Later talking to the media person Ashma clarified that there was nothing wrong in the new committee which was formed following the all norms. Commenting on the protest she said, “I don’t know what is the reason behind. We have done nothing unfair to anybody.”

Ashma also admitted that some of the players and coach are suspended because of violating the rules of the association and they were not invited in the camp.

However protesters alleged that they are the victims of the whimsical decision being taken by the secretary who is also involved with ‘anomalies of fund’. They also made it clear that no player or coach was suspended by the association and the news is totally baseless. The news was being spread tactfully as many senior players and coach were not invited in the camp because they recently protested on the ‘anti association’ activities of current secretary. The protesters also added: “The new committee was formed in the back door and there is no validity of it.”
