Basksa administration bans sand quarrying

BARAMA, March 27: The district administration of Baksa, by an order, has banned illegal sand quarrying in the district. Deputy Commissioner Vinod Seshan said drastic action would be taken against anyone who was involved in carrying sand from rivers in the district. He also asked the magistrate and the police to do the needful in this connection. The district administration has also adopted precautiory measures against swine flue so that the disease cannot spread. The DC has already stopped open buying and selling of meat in the markets. He has asked the bazar committees of the district to keep their marketplaces clean. He also requested the voluntary organizations to bury any animal carcass if found so that swine flue does not spread.
