Batadraba gears up for Doul Mahotsav

GAON, March 16: The five day Doul Mahotsav will commence at Batadraba, the holy birthplace of Srimanta Sankardev from tomorrow. The first day of the festival will start by ‘Gandh utsav’ followed by ‘Goxai murot Faku  Dia Utsav’ on March 23 and ‘Goxai Furua Utsav’ on March 24 respectively. In a press conference this was informed by Brajen Kakoti the general secretary of the magement committee.

The organizers have also informed that everyday various other programs will also be organized in the Batadraba Than such as ‘Diha am’, ‘Ankiya Bhao’ etc on the banks of Akashi Ganga.

Deputy Commissoner of gaon district Molisha Goswami, renowned writer Dr Dayanda Pathak, Molisha  Saikia, actor Gu Mahanta and other dignitaries are likely to grace the occasion.

The organizers have urged all the devotees to wear traditiol attire (Dhoti with Gamusa for male and Mekhela-Sador for female) while visiting the temple. They have also urged all the local people and the devotees to maintain discipline and co-operate with the administration to celebrate the Doul Mahotsav without any difficulties.

President of the Batadraba Than Magement Committee Paramanda Dev Mahanta, vice president Debanda Dev Goswami, assistant secretary Jatin Barua were also present in the press conference.
