Bathou San celebrated in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, January 28: Bathou San was observed at Bathou Thansali at Baganshali in Kokrajhar town on Tuesday at the behest of Kokrajhar district All Bathou Religious Union (ABRU) with a day–long programme. Gwthar Bathou San is celebrated on the second Tuesday of the Magh month, which is celebrated by the Bathou followers as the Bathou San. A priest said that this year the theme of the celebration was peace in the region.  A mass prayer was held in the morning. Hundreds of devotees prayed for peace in the region and for those who were killed in the December 23 carge in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur districts. An open meeting was also held in the afternoon where bin Chandra Mandol, retired Additiol Director General CPWD, Government of India, Biswajit Daimary, MP Rajya Sabha, Sansuma Khungur Bhwisumuthiary, former MP, Ranjit Kr. Bargoyari,  former president of Tribal Sangha were present.
