Bayern beat Augsburg

Munich, Feb 15: Forward Robert Lewandowski’s brace ensured Bayern Munich’s 18th win of the season with a 3-1 margin against FC Augsburg while Hamburg FC came from behind to shock Borussia Monchengladbach 3-2 in Bundesliga.

Bayern Munich returned to winning ways as Lewandowski and Thomas Mueller provided goals to edge Augsburg 3-1 on Sunday in a 21st round match. Josep Guardiola’s men staged a clinical performance as Lewandowski opened the scoring with the first chance and after an assist by Mueller in the 15th minute. The Germany intertiol set up Lewandowski, who slot a low-shot past Augsburg custodian Marwin Hitz.

With the result, Bayern restore their eight-point gap on top of the standings while Augsburg remained on the 14th position. With the seventh win of the season, Hamburg jump to the 11th position whilst Monchengladbach slumped to the seventh place. IANS
