Berlin, May 20: Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm has said that the Bavarian football giants will seek to bid a “beautiful farewell” to chief coach Pep Guardiola by winning the DFB-Pokal fil against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
“We want to make sure the coaching staff and everybody who’s leaving at the end of the season have a beautiful farewell match,” Lahm said on Thursday.
Lahm added that Bayern will try to achieve the double through winning the cup in Berlin after his side claimed the Bundesliga title this season, reports Efe.
Dortmund will travel on Friday to Berlin, where the squad will hold the last training session before the fil. Bayern’s veteran Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso and Javi Martinez, who missed the last Bundesliga match due to injury, travelled with the team to Berlin on Thursday. Both Arjen Robben and Holger Badstuber did not travel to Berlin on Thursday due to injury, according to the Bavarian club. IANS
