Bayern's Douglas denies his involvement in car crash

Munich, Dec 11: Bayern Munich’s Brazilian winger Douglas Costa has confirmed he was not involved in a car accident here with a tram. There were reports that the 25-year-old on Wednesday crashed his car here. The accident is believed to have taken place just before Bayern’s European Champions League tie against Dimo Zagreb but Costa wasn’t with the team as he stayed back because of a thigh injury. But on Thursday the footballer clearly stated that he was not in the car.

“I want to clarify the articles in the press about the accident with my car. I was not in the car. My cousin Stefano was driving and just my sister was with him, and they are fine and suffered no injury. I was at home at the time,” Costa posted on his Facebook page. “Any questions can be taken from the German police who were present throughout what occurred. Thanks everyone for the messages and support. Sincerely Douglas Costa,” he stated. IANS
