BCPL observes Quami Ekta Week

Dibrugarh, Dec 4: Quami Ekta Week was observed in Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited, Lepetkata, Dibrugarh, from November 19 to November 25. The iugural ceremony was iugurated by OP Tailor, Director (Fince), BCPL in the presence of Ajay Tripathi, Chief Operating Officer and Reep Hazarika, General Mager O&M. The senior officials spoke on the essence and importance of the week to all employees on November 19 at the administrative building, Lepetkata.

This occasion provided an opportunity to reaffirm age-old traditions and faith in the values of tolerance, coexistence and brotherhood in a multi-cultural and multi-religious society. BCPL observed Quami Ekta Week, 2017 with various programmes in the entire week. Drawing competition for children was organized with the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’. A discussion on ‘Importance of Women in Indian Society and their role in tion Building’ was also organized on the occasion.

The resource person for the session was Dr. smeem Farhan Akhtar, chairperson, Centre for Women Studies, Dibrugarh University. She was accompanied by two research associates of Dibrugarh University who gave further inputs in the session. The session was attended by female employees of BCPL and spouses of BCPL employees. Issues like gender sensitization, role of women in society, participation of women in tiol politics, and economics were discussed in the session. The week-long celebration ended on November 25. Various banners on the theme were displayed in conspicuous locations of the plant to spread the message of harmony among the employees and the general public.
