BCPL organizes free health checkup camp

Dibrugarh, Dec 15:  In its continuous endeavour to ensure a healthy environment and care for health of people of the surrounding areas, Brahmaputra Cracker Polymer Limited (BCPL) is organizing health check-up camps in the nearby villages.

The main objective of this initiative is to facilitate the villagers with general and preventive health care. The programme has been organized in three phases with a motive to extend medical services of specialists to address health-related problems of people residing in the vicinity of BCPL. As part of this programme, few health check-up camps were organized in the neighbouring  villages situated near the plant. A free health check-up was organized at Baragharia M E School recently

The free health check-up camp was organized at Baragharia ME School recently. Specialists from Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), as well as private practitioners in the areas of Medicine, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Paediatrics, ENT and Orthopaedics from Dibrugarh provided medical consultation to the villagers and free medicines were also distributed to the patients having various ailments. More than 150 villagers from nearby areas like Baragharia, Garudharia, Choraihabi and Madhupur turned out and took advantage of the health check-up camp. The initiative was a great success as most of the people living in this interior village have no access to medical facilities.
