B'deshi tiol apprehended by BSF

SHILLONG, April 27: The BSF troops deployed at Umsiyem, East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya observed some suspicious movement near the Intertiol Border.

The BSF troops rushed towards the suspected area and bbed one Bangladeshi tiol at Intertiol Border while he was ex-filtrating from India to Bangladesh.

He was later identified as Md. Noor Miyan (35), resident of Uttarpratp Pur village, PS- Gowinghat, District- Sylhet, Bangladesh along with 827 packets Baby Huggies  approx worth more than Rs.4 lakh and 1090 BD Taka.

However, another smuggler maged to flee the spot taking advantage of darkness and hilly slope.

It may be mentioned that the price of garments are cheaper in Indian Market as compared to Bangladesh thus the smuggler earn handsome amount from these items.

Meanwhile, in two more incidents, the BSF troops deployed at Gopithkila, South West Garo Hills and Purkhasia, West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya seized 24 numbers Cattle while being smuggled to Bangladesh. The BSF has seized 195 numbers cattle, and contraband items worth more than Rs. 18 lack, while being smuggled out from India to Bangladesh on the Intertiol Border along Meghalaya during last week.

However, the apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to department concerned for further legal action.
