'Be thorough about welfare schemes'

ITAGAR, July 1: Aruchal Pradesh Governor P B Acharya has advised government officers to be thorough about various welfare schemes and programmes for better implementation. “Below-par accomplishment in implementation reflects the lethargy and indifferent approach of the officials. You should enrol at least five persons in Jan Dhan Yoja, Mudra Bank and other schemes,” the governor told district heads of departments at Ziro in Lower Subansiri district on Friday, a press release stated.  Local MLA and Food and Civil Supplies Parliamentary Secretary Tage Taki, Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Kemo Lollen and Superintendent of Police Bomge Kamduk attended the governor’s meeting with district officials. The governor asked the MLA and DC to take initiatives while advising bankers, Social Welfare department and Aadhaar card agencies to put in a concerted effort as a team. He also asked the officials to brainstorm on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme so that every girl child benefits from it.
The governor called for strict monitoring to ensure that injustice doesn’t prevail. He also asked the academics in Ziro to carry out research work on harnessing tural resources of the district and other issues benefiting the denizens. Earlier, Acharya interacted with political and Panchayat leaders from various political parties and appealed to them to assist the district administration in implementation of various welfare programmes. He advised them to stand against corruption. Representatives from Apatani Women’s Association requested the governor for a rehabilitation centre at Ziro for mentally challenged individuals. Farmers’ representatives sought his assistance in addressing the farm sector challenges.
