Bengal take lead vs Assam in VM

GUWAHATI, Dec 26: A good fight from Riyan Parag went in vain as Bengal took 31 runs first innings lead in the Vijay Merchant cricket tourment match against Assam at Bokakhat today. In reply to Bengal’s first innings total 200, Assam today bowled out 169 runs in the first innings. Bengal were 2-0 in their second innings at stumps on day II.The highlight of Assam innings was a half century from Riyan Parag and good contribution from the tailenders. Riyan, who faced 169 balls, scored 55 runs with the help of 7 boundaries and two huge sixes. Abdul Ajij Kuraishi (31), Amlanjyoti Das (21) and Akash Sengupta (22 no) contributed well in the lower order.
