Bhangra beats welcome PBL teams to capital

New Delhi, Jan 7:  Hosts Delhi Acers and Hyderabad Hunters got a rousing welcome from the sport’s aficiodos as the Premier Badminton League (PBL) visited the tiol capital for the two-day third leg of the six-team tourment on Thursday.

After hosting the event in Mumbai and Lucknow, PBL got a loud welcome at the Siri Fort Sports Complex here.

As the two teams — Acers and Hunters — entered the are, they were welcomed by Bhangra dancers showing off their energetic moves to the tunes of the dhol.

Captain of the visiting team Jwala Gutta and teammate Parupalli Kashyap threw some of their team’s merchandise to reward the loudest fans in the stadium, who were blowing their whistles and horns and waving the team flags continuously.

The capital will see action between the Acers and Bengaluru Top Guns on Friday before the league proceeds to Hyderabad for the fourth and penultimate leg of the tourment. IANS
