Bharat Scouts & Guides hosts food fest in Shillong

SHILLONG, Oct 13: The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides, (MBSG), East Khasi Hills District organized the 2nd cultural programme and 1st Food Fest on Friday at U Soso Tham Auditorium premises here. The programme was iugurated by the Meghalaya Minister I & PR, Labour, etc, Ampareen Lyngdoh in presence of Secretary, MBSG A Swer, Scouts and Guides officials and students of different schools of the district.

The programme was sponsored by Meghalaya government under the Chief Minister’s Youth Development Scheme through the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills district.

In her speech, Lyngdoh said that the vision of the founder of Scouts and Guides was inspiring and praise-worthy because the movement prepares young boys and girls to take on the responsibility to serve the society in a selfless manner.

She said that being a girl guide in her student’s life, she has been equipped with various life skills which have proved beneficial for her in her dealings with day to day life activities as a public representative and a human being.

The minister urged the schools and college magement to encourage students to join the Bharat Scouts and Guides, a movement working towards character building and life skills and prepare them to deal with the challenges in life.

She expressed hoped that the principles laid down by its founder is inculcated in our daily life so that we can grow in character, strength and be role models to the society at large.
