Bhaxa Oza Hemchandra Baruah Sahitya Bota to noted novelist Anuradha Puzari by Dergaon Xahitya Xabha

GOLAGHAT: The prestigious Bhaxa Oza Hemchandra Baruah Sahitya Bota was given to noted novelist and litterateur Anuradha Sarma Puzari by the Dergaon Xahitya Xabha on Sunday at a programme held at Chandra Nath Khaound Bhavan of Dergaon.

The programme started with smriti tarpan which was inaugurated by retired Head of the Department of Assamese, Gauhati University, Dr. Nagen Thakur and the programme was conducted by noted Assamese film producer-writer Nurul Sultan. Receiving the prestigious award Bhaxa Oza Hemchandra Baruah Xahitya Bota Anuradha Sarma Puzari expressed her happiness. “We should include information about Bhaxa Oza Hemchandra Baruah in school books.”

Similarly, Dr Nagen Thakur said, “Hemchandra Baruah is not a property of Jayanta Baruah or any family. He is a property of Assam and its Assamese people. He is a forefather of Assamese literature.”

In the award programme, former Axam Xahitya Xabha president Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bora was seen campaigning for Dergaon MLA Bhaben Bharali and the DC of Golaghat, Dhiren Hazarika was present as a special guest of the programme.
