Bhogali Mela in Dibrugarh from January 3

Dibrugarh, November 26: Under the initiative of District Tribal Youth League, a Bhogali Mela and Jajati Khadya Mela will be held from January 3 to January 12  nexr year here in the vicinity of Chowkidinghee Chariali. Meanwhile, preparations are being made to include various Assamese traditiol food items like pitha, jolpan and other food stuffs made by Self Help Groups (SHG). The Bhogali Mela, would also see the participation of SHGs of indigenous communities like Bodo, Mising, Deuri, Sonowal  Kachari, Fakiyal Mech Kachari, Singhfo, Karbi, Tiwa, Rabha, Dimasa, Thengal, Khamti, Garo, Hajong and other plain and tribal communities  residing in the precincts of Assam. Arrangements have been made to include all the traditiol food delicacies of the aforesaid communities to provide the people a platform to relish on the traditiol foods at the Bhogali and Khadya Mela.
