Biennial conference of journalists’ body

JOYSAGAR, April 30: The first biennial conference of the Asom Bartajivi Sangha (ABS), Sivasagar District Committee, was held in the Sivasagar Yubadol auditorium on Sunday. The conference was presided over by the district president, KR Hazarika while its objectives were elaborated by the secretary, Monoj Gogoi. ABS central secretary Tutu Phukan took part in the conference as a central observer and during the conference the executive body of Sivasagar district committee was also formed with KR Hazarika as president.

In the open session, Sivasagar ADC and also the acting Deputy Commissioner, N Ali took part as chief guest while Sivasagar Press Club president Dr. SJ Mahanta took part as the key speaker on the subject ‘Challenges before working journalists’. The souvenir Asom Dapun was formally released by senior journalist Robin Bhuyan on the occasion.
