Bilasipara fair price shop dealers demand payment of commission

BILASIPARA, May 5: Fair price shop dealers under Bilasipara civil subdivision submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the SDO (Civil), Bilasipara on Wednesday demanding immediate payment of dealers’ commission.

It was stated in the memorandum that the government had declared Rs 143 as dealers’ commission for lifting and distribution of rice under tiol Food Security Act, 2013. Accordingly the fair price shop dealers have been distributing rice under the scheme. But even after expiry of five months, the government has allegedly not made any payment to the dealers. Not only that, the government also allegedly did not also pay the declared commission to the dealers for lifting and distribution of rice under Antardaya An Yoja (AAY) for the period from July, 2008 to October, 2015 and for lifting and distribution of rice under the scheme Mukhya Mantrir An Suraksha Yoja (MMASY) for the period from October, 2010 to November, 2015.

The dealers have urged upon the government through the memorandum to make payment of their outstanding dues immediately. The memorandum also threatened the government to take resort to court of law if payment was not made immediately. The SDO (Civil), Bilasipara, Dr Jiban B, realizing the pathetic condition of the dealers, assured the dealers to take up the matter with the government.
