Birth anniversary of Dr Rajendra Prasad observed

DEMOW, December 3: The Sopur Social Development Society, an NGO, celebrated the 130th birth anniversary of Dr Rajendra Prasad,  the first President of India, on Saturday at Holy Kids English School, a private school of Demow.

The ceremonial lamp in front of the portrait of Dr. Rajendra Prasad was lit by Moni Mohan Koch, OC of Demow Police Station. On the occasion a meeting was organized in the Holy Kids English School which was presided over by Bobi Gogoi, Principal of Holy Kids English School, and it was anchored by Mousumi Konwar, teacher of Holy Kids English School. Moni Mohan Koch, OC of Demow Police Station, spoke about the aims of the meeting. Under the initiative of Sanjay Prasad Sah, president of Sopur Social Development Society, a traditiol Indian dress competition was organized among the students of the school where 12 students took part.

A cake was cut by the students who were in traditiol Indian dress. In the programme, Joy Jyoti Konwar, joint secretary of Sopur Society Development Society, Mridul Buragohain, local media person, along with teaching staff of Holy Kids English School were present.
