Birth anniversary of Mahapurush Madhabdev observed

Gohpur, June 11 : The 528th birth anniversary of Mahapurush Madhabdev was observed in Morning Star High School, Barangabari under Gohpur subdivision on Saturday. The school authority of Morning Star High School built the stage of cultural programme uniquely. The school magement decorated the stage by all elements of a amghar like thapo, doba, khul and taal.  Pitambar Hazarika iugurated the birth anniversary celebration by lighting the ceremonial lamp before the thapo. He also installed the sacred thapo with reverence. The programme was presided over guest educationist Dr. Mampi Borah who hails from Sivasagar.

Cultural function was held with the presentation of Xattriya dance, doxoboter and borgeet. Kamal Phukan, rector of Ambikagiri Raichoudhury Jatiya Bidyalaya, author-cum-radio announcer Barli Kataki Ozha and many dignitaries came to Morning Star High School to take part in the programme. The school authority felicitated the successful students who brought laurels to the school in the HSLC examition, 2017.

On behalf of Morning Star High School, founder Jadav Chaliha and Principal Dinesh Kr. KC felicitated 37 first division holders, including six distinction and five star holders with traditiol gamusa and letter of appreciation. Veteran of Mahapuruxiya culture of the locality, garam Das and noted dramatist of Assam, Prabin Saikia were felicitated in the function. Chief guests Kamal Phukan and Barli Kataki Ozah appreciated the school authority to have organized the birth anniversary of saint-scholar Madhabdev uniquely.
