Birth anniversary of Netaji in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA, Jan 24: The 121st birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose was observed centrally at Tinsukia on Tuesday with revolutiory zeal and fervour. The day-long programme witnessed participation of a large number of schools in various programmes organized by Netaji birthday celebration committee, Tinsukia. The cultural procession was iugurated by Dr Kirti Ranjan Dey where students from Durgabari Sishu Vidyalaya, Tinsukia English Academy, Budding Buds Senior Secondary School, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Tinsukia Bengali Girls’ HS School and Hindustani Kendriya Vidyalaya participated among many schools. Earlier in the morning floral tribute was paid to his statue at AT Road by the president of the committee, Phatik Deb. A scintillating cultural programme performed by Nrityanjali, Sanchayita, Barli Sishu Kalyan Sanstha was held at Durgabari Manch. A souvenir was released by Dr Kirti Ranjan Dey in presence of Sanjay Kishan, MLA Tinsukia and other members of the editorial board.
