Birth anniversary of Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra

Tezpur, Feb 11: The 130th birth anniversary of India’s 20th century living ideal, socio religious reformer and founder of “Satsang” Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra was celebrated with much traditiol fervour, full devotion and gaiety here at Tezpur Satsang Vihar, Polofield premises on Sunday. It was also the 32nd Sree Brigraho establishment anniversary of Tezpur Satsang Vihar. The programme was started with ‘Usha Kirtan’ (early morning rally).

Prayers, meditation, reading of holy scriptures (Satyanusara) and religious discourse were held in the prayer hall along with different devotiol songs by local artist. Prasad was distributed among all the people. Huge followers from all cast and communities attended the day long programme. Swarup Mohan Das, social worker and advisor of the celebration committee explained the philosophy of Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra. The occasion was also attended by social workers Prafulla Barthakur, Khagendra th Kakati, Prafulla Borah, Deputy Register of Tezpur University, writer Monomati Kurmi, Jibon Kurmi and others.

Haflong: The birth anniversary was also observed with a day-long programme at  Haflong Satsang Vihar on Sunday. The day’s programme started with  habat at dawn, Usha kirtan early in the morning followed by congregatiol prayer, pram, mjop and reading of  holy books of Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchanda. This was followed by a procession carrying the beautifully decorated portrait of Sri Sri Thakur wherein hundreds of people from various parts of  Haflong, Lower Haflong, Sarkari Bagan took part. The procession started from the premises of Haflong Satsang Vihar and marched through the main road up to Boys’ Hostel of Govt Boys H S School and then again converged at Haflong Satsang Vihar at Haflong.

At 3 pm a religious discourse was held with  rattam Barman, SPR in the chair wherein Chandra Bhusan Chowdhury, SPR, Aborto Probosa, T D Banerjee took part as the appointed speakers. All the speakers dwelt at length on the life and ideology of  Sri Sri Thakur while discussing philanthropic activities of the Satsang founded by Sri Sri Thakur. The speakers also appealed to people to follow the path shown by Sri Sri Thakur which would help the  society develop as a whole. Several hundreds of people took prasad at Anda Bazar. On the previous day, rattam Barman, SPR ceremonially iugurated the Utsav in presence of a huge gathering of Satsangees and others.
