TEZPUR, Feb 6: Neelam Dutta, a progressive and innovative organic farmer from Pabhoi under Biswath subdivision was awarded the prestigious Haladhar Organic Farmer Award, 2014 recently by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Government of India recently in New Delhi.
The award was presented to him by Radha Mohan Singh, Minister of Agriculture, Government of India. Dutta is deeply involved in a number of methodically planned organic agricultural activities also integrating dairy and fishery components in a scientific manner. At a time when the Government of India is giving a renewed thrust on organic agriculture particularly in the NE region of the country, the young farmer with a basket of proven organic technologies is expected to serve as a leading role model in this economically backward and insurgency-infested area.
