Biswath subdivision sounds monsoon alert

Biswath Chariali, May 18: The Biswath subdivision today sounded an alert in all its departments in view of the ensuing monsoons.

During a meeting, SDO(civil) Pallab Gopal Jha issued instructions to the departments of water resources, public works department, food and civil supplies, public health engineering, rural development, forest, agriculture, veteriry and also to the police as well. During the meeting, issues related to tural disasters caused by heavy rainfall and how to carry out the rescue and relief operations and take preventive measures were also discussed. A control room will be set up by the water resource department which will also regularly check the water level in the Brahmaputra. Moreover, the Panpur-Biswath embankment will be monitored and a daily report submitted to the circle office.
