BJP, AIUDF adopting divide-and-rule policy: Gogoi

lbari, Jan 29: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday said that the ‘divide-and-rule’ policy of BJP and AIUDF would affect the state.

Addressing a public rally organized by the three Block congress Committee at Gurdon H.S. School playground he Chief Minister Gogoi said that BJP and AIUDF have interl understanding for the 2016 Assembly elections.

The Chief Minister slammed the Central Government for removal of the special category state status for Assam.

“The law and order situations in the State have been improved and peace has restored and so every civilian can travel any place of the state without any hesitation. We have the true spirit of regiolism, so we have committed for all round development of the State,” the Chief Minister said.

Speaking at the public rally, Anjan Dutta, president of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, said that the Congress party would fight the assembly elections, 2016 with all ethnic groups taking into confidence.

He claimed that the Congress party would be able to form the Government winning at least 70 seats. Dutta slammed BJP and RSS for importing outside culture to the state.

The Congress president said that Hangrama would be uprooted from the soil of BTAD as he was a ‘traitor’. MP Gourav Gogoi, Former AGP Minister Joyth Sarma also spoke at the public rally which was presided over by Basanta Das, president of lbari District Congress Committee.

Pradyut Bhuyan, general secretary of State Congress Committee delivered the welcome speech in the meeting which was organized by Pub-lbari Block Congress Committee, Pub-Bonbhag Block Congress Committee and Town-Block Congress Committee unitedly.   Meanwhile 12 AGP leaders of the district joined Congress today in the presence of Chief Minister.
