BJP Criticized by Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee for Rising Fuel Prices

Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee President Takam Sanjay is unhappy at the rising fuel prices across the country and criticizes the BJP led NDA government for the uncontrollably rising fuel prices.

The party president strongly condemns the BJP government for such sky-high fuel prices and threatens the opposition that if the prices do not come down then the Congress party will be compelled to bring out protests across all district headquarters and the same will be practised in the state capital Itanagar as well.

Sanjoy said, "The average price of gasoline around the world is 1.17 U.S dollar per barrel while it is 1.16 dollar per litre in India. All countries have access to the same international markets but impose different taxes and offer subsidies, leading to different retail prices of gasoline."

Other than threatening the government at the centre, the party President even asked the state government too to lower the local taxes and VAT on fuel prices as this will also relieve the common people from paying the high rates.

He stated, "If the government fails to do so, Congress would be forced to hold protests in district headquarters to tell the masses how the government is looting us all in the name of ushering in acche din."

Sanjoy mocked at the promise for ‘acche din’ made by the BJP government and was used as a weapon to convince the voters and usher in victory in the elections.
