‘BJP focusing on meaningful changes for all-round development’

Joysagar, June 26: “The BJP is particularly focusing on meaningful and permanent changes in the system of our country so that the country can move forward on the path of all-round development as well as follow neo-democratic practices in thought and action,” said Jorhat LS constituency MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa on Tuesday in Sivasagar while he was addressing an important press meet which was held in the District Tourist Lodge, Sivasagar. The press meet was called by the Sivasagar district BJP in connection with the State-level celebration of the successful completion of four years of the Union government and two years of the State government. MP Tasa also informed briefly about the various social welfare schemes which had been implemented by the BJP government in the Centre as well as in the State. Moreover, MP Tasa also revealed about the steps taken for the development of Sivasagar town.

He said that to build the Sivasagar and Charaideo districts as tourist destinations, the Union government had released about Rs 400 crore under the ancient monument maintenance head in the current fiscal year in five different schemes. He also said that the historic Dhodar Ali was already listed by the Union PWD as one of the national highways in the country. The Dhodar Ali was built by Ahom king Gadadhar Singha in the Ahom era and this road links Nagaland also. Besides, many other social issues were also briefly discussed in the press meet. The meeting was also attended by Thowra MLA Kushal Dowari, BJP district president Bhaben Mahan, BJP State vice-president Surabhi Rajkumari and BJP leader Dr. P. Konwar.
