GUWAHATI, Nov 18: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that rendra Modi-led NDA Government at the Centre has astonishingly deviated from its poll promises and has utterly failed on all fronts.
Referring to Assam convenor of the BJP Mahendra Singh’s remark on Assam that appeared on a section of media, Gogoi said in a statement today, “Mahendra Singh is spreading blemishes in Assam in order to cover up the NDA Government’s failure in the Centre”. Gogoi said that BJP’s poll plank of ‘Acche Din’ that created a ‘ray of hope’ among the common men has fell flat as the Centre has miserably failed in checking the prices of essential commodities which are skyrocketing.
Assam also has not been relieved from the much hyped rhetoric of Modi who has promised to deport illegal foreigners from the State and shocked to see his retraction from the promise once the elections were over.
Promises like bringing back black money stashed abroad, crediting every account holder’s bank account with Rs. 15 lakh each, creating employment avenues etc seemed to have lost priority of the Centre. Humiliating defeat of the BJP and its allies in the Bihar election is a testimony to the hollow promises of Modi and his Government.
People of the country have realised the real character of rendra Modi led BJP Government and so even after announcing a whooping of Rs 1.25 lakh crore package for Bihar development, the party faced drubbing in the State.
Gogoi, moreover said, “People of Assam are politically conscious and always go by the judgement and not by rhetoric. Merely paying a lip service to the problems of the people won’t make any party popular”.
