BJP in 'dilemma' over selection of candidate for Dhekiajuli constituency

DHEKIAJULI, Dec 23: The State BJP is in a dilemma over selection of candidate   for  the Dhekiajuli constituency for the forthcoming Assembly election.

 Most heavyweight BJP tickets aspirants from Dhekiajuli constituency  are in an aggressive mood  to contest as independent candidates  if the party turns down their nomition  for the Dhekiajuli  constituency.  In the 71 Dhekiajuli Legislative Assembly, as of now there are 1,84000 voters. Among this, tea belt voters are 64000,  36000 Linguistic Hindu Bengali voters,  34,000 Bodo,  13,000 Assamese, 8,000 Nepali,  6,000 Hindi speaking  and  23,000 minority Muslim voters .  

 In tea belt area, out of 65,000 voters, 25,000 voters are Christian.   Almost all BJP ticket aspirants from Dhekiajuli constituency appear overconfident about their candidature from  Dhekiajuli LAC.  Some BJP ticket aspirants said that if the selection of candidate was not done on the basis of popularity and capability of the candidate, they would oust BJP from 71 Dhekiajuli  LAC.  When asked about the candidature of Pallav Lochan Das  from 71 Dhekiajuli LAC, several BJP ticket seekers they said that  if that happened then BJP would get the reply in the election result.
