BJP Minority Morcha for under bridge at railway crossing

Silchar, April 12: BJP Minority Morcha Cachar district through a memorandum addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar on Wednesday has urged him to grant permission for construction of an under bridge for light vehicles and commuters for crossing the railway line of Silchar-Kalain road (NH 37) to Ramgar ISBT (NH 57) which connects Tupkhan – II, Silchar in between Silchar and Aruchal railway station for safety of the people passing through it. The road is in existence since the British period and the area is also highly populated on either side of the railway line. Thousands of people including students of various educatiol institutions have to cross the railway line every day for their daily needs.

Presently, people of the locality have to cross two railway lines to go through the road in between frequent movement of trains, which is risky and hazardous. It is to be noted that people have no choice and are bound to cross the railway line. The pacca road which has been built under PMGSY is always used by commuters, bicyclists, motorcyclists, drivers of auto rickshaw and light vehicles for crossing the railway lines. A copy of the memorandum signed by Baharul Islam Barbhuiya, president, Samsul Alom Laskar, secretary, of BJP Minority Morcha Cachar district and other local people, has been sent to the Prime Minister, Railway Minister, Minister of State for Railway, Chief Minister of Assam and MLA Dilip Kumar Paul who is also the Deputy Speaker of Assam Assembly.
