BJP MLA Ranjit Dutta Distributed Tractors To 595 Farmers’ Groups in Lakhimpur, Assam

LAKHIMPUR, July 27: Ranjit Dutta, State Handloom Textiles, Sericulture and Minority Development Affairs Minister, inaugurated the tractor distribution programme for 595 farmer groups of Lakhimpur district on Thursday under the Chief Minister’s Samgra Gramya Unnayan Yojana. The tractor distribution ceremony was organized by the Lakhimpur district administration and Agriculture Department at the Lakhimpur District Library auditorium in a befitting manner in the presence of Lakhimpur MLA Utpal Dutta, Bihpurya MLA Debananda Hazarika, representatives of minister-cum-Dhakuakhona MLA Naba Kumar Doley, Nowboicha MLA Mamun Imdadul Haque Choudhuri, ADC Debashish Baishya and agricultural scientists of the district. Participating in the programme as the chief guest, minister Ranjit Dutta appealed to the farmers fraternity to bring a green revolution to the flood-affected Lakhimpur district by availing the benefits of the new agro-schemes launched by the BJP-led State government.

“The newly launched Chief Minister’s Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana will not be limited to the distribution of tractors only. An all-round development of each and every revenue village of the State has been targeted through the scheme. Various agro-based projects will be taken under the scheme to ascertain the development of rural economy. In addition to these, establishment of sports ground for the physical and mental well-being of the youths in the rural area, and the availability of internet services are also targeted through the scheme,” stated the minister in his speech.

He also warned the officers of Agriculture (Engineering) not to compromise with the quality of the tractors. In this regard, he stressed following the guidelines of the scheme strictly. MLA Utpal Dutta also spoke on the occasion highlighting the various aspects of the scheme.

In the programme, 17 groups of the district were formally distributed the tractors on Thursday and the distribution of tractors to the 595 farmers’ groups in first phase will be completed by August 15. Two women farmers’ groups named Kankan of Chesa Mising Gaon and Padum of Tatiyemora in the district also got tractors under the scheme.
