BJP not in hurry to announce candidates

SHILLONG, Jan 28:  The BJP is not in a hurry to announce the mes of its candidates for the Meghalaya assembly polls if party sources are to be believed.

“We have still got time for the polls in Meghalaya and galand. We will first announce the mes of candidates in Tripura which is going to polls on February 18,” a BJP leader said on Sunday.

It may be mentioned that Meghalaya and galand goes to polls on February 27.

While almost all the parties have med their candidates for the Meghalaya Assembly election the BJP is yet to do so.

The tiol People’s Party (NPP) has med its candidates in 51 seats, while on January 27, the Congress have announced their candidates in 57 constituencies out of the 60 seats in Meghalaya.

The NCP, HSPDP-UDP amongst other parties have also declared their candidates.

The first meeting of the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the BJP to filise the mes of probable candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls was held in New Delhi on Saturday. The meeting was attended by State BJP leader AL Hek and others, party sources said.
