BJP starts poll preparation in Dima Hasao

Haflong, Sept 27: Regarding the preparation for the upcoming council election as well as the 2019 parliamentary election, the BJP State leaders held a meeting with NCHAC CEM Debolal Gorlosa, chairperson Ranu Langthasa and EMs of NCHAC at the conference hall of the Circuit House, Haflong on Thursday.

This was followed by a programme held at NL Daulagupu Sport Complex to ceremonially hand over appointment letters as prisha pramukh to as many as 10 BJP workers. The programme was attended by Ranjit Kumar Das, State BJP president, NCHAC CEM Debolal Gorlosa, NCHAC chairperson Ranu Langthasa, BJP Dima Hasao president Nipolal Hojai and other leaders.

Altogether 2,800 prisha pramukh will be appointed in the district for direct engagement with the voters ahead of NCHAC MAC election and the forthcoming MP elections scheduled next year and also to sensitize the developmental schemes and activities implemented by the BJP government. The appointed pramukhs will cover 244 polling booths in the entire district and each pramukh will be responsible to establish communication with 15 households in each polling booth.

Speaking on the occasion, Ranjit Kr Das dwelt on the role of the pramukh and also urged the people to take benefit of schemes like PMUY, PMAY and Atal Amrit Abhiyan. He said that BJP would be successful to secure all the MAC constituencies of N C Hills Autonomous Council in the forthcoming election. He added that development should not remain confined to any other political party like Congress and AGP, and developmental projects and schemes should reach all communities.
