BJP will make Sivasagar a tourist destition: Tasa

JOYSAGAR, Feb 25:  “We have specific plan and enough fund. We are studying and taking advice from resource persons who are expert in tourism and history. We will not compromise in making Sivasagar a real tourist city,” said Jorhat Lok Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa while attending the Shivaratri Mahotsava in the historic Shiva Dol on Saturday.

Tasa, when asked by media persons whether the government was taking any initiative regarding the preservation and renovation of the ancient monuments of Sivasagar district, said that the State Government in the recent budget allotted Rs 10 crore for repairing, preservation and beautification of various ancient monuments of Sivasagar.

Apart from this, the BJP government will work in the right direction so that Sivasagar can be recognized as a tourist city, he added. Tasa earlier visited the historic Shiva Dol of Sivasagar and Borpukhori and offered puja inside the temple.
