BJP workers join Congress at Howraghat town

HOWRAGHAT, March 29: About hundreds of BJP workers in Howraghat town formally joined the Congress on Saturday in presence of HAD Minister Kharsing Engti, KAAC EMs, Mongal Sing Timung and local MAC and EM for Social Welfare Department, Premala Beypi.

Addressing the Congress meeting held at Howraghat Ward No-2 in the evening, Timung said that the BJP was misleading common voters only to come in power. “But no one will get any benefit from the BJP in Karbi Anglong,” Timung said determinedly.

While welcoming the newly joined renegade BJP supporters and workers, Assam HAD Minister Kharsing Engti urged voters to keep confidence in the Congress. He assured to solve the grievances of the people. Highlighting various schemes designed by the government, Engti claimed all-round development in the entire Howraghat area as well as in Karbi Anglong. Engti urged people not to fall for the false promises and assurances of the BJP. During the meeting, local MAC and EM, KAAC, Premala Beypi also assured to provide maximum facilities in Howraghat town as well in the district.
