KOKRAJHAR, May 23: The Bodoland Jajati Suraksha Manch (BJSM) has congratulated the BJP for its win in the assembly polls. The BJSM expressed hope for better governce under the new government and that the constitutiol safeguards guaranteed to Scheduled Tribes in the State would get full protection and justification from the new government under Sarbanda Sonowal.

In a press statement, the president of BJSM, Jaklal Basumatary pointed out tribal land in tribal protected areas should be protected from the illegal encroachers as per prevailing law of the land, and no person or organization of majority communities be allowed to run or establish any business, institution for promotion of majority community’s culture, language, religion, tradition and business to override and subside the promotion of culture, language, religion, tradition and business of tribals in the protected tribal areas, as guaranteed in the Constitution and statute law of the land. So tribal land cannot be allowed to use for any business establishment or institution for benefit of non-protected majority communities like Ajmal Foundation, Jamia-e-Ulema-e-Hind and Patanjali, currently competing to establish business establishments, institution for promotion of business, culture, language, religion and tradition in tribal area for the benefit of majority community at the cost of protection and promotion of tribal culture, language, religion, tradition and business guaranteed in the Constitution. The new government should stop these activities in tribal areas to uphold the provisions of the Constitution. No unqualified communities should be allowed ST benefit at the cost of notified ST communities, said Basumatary.

BJSM also congratulated BPF for wining all the ST reserved constituencies and general seats except one in BTC Sixth Schedule tribal area. BJSM hoped the BPF would uphold the constitutiol provision for protection and promotion of tribal land, culture, language, tradition, religion and not to be carried away by the majority community for power and political interest.
