KOKRAJHAR, April 2: The Bodoland Jajati Suraksha Mancha (BJSM) on Sunday said that it perceived the surfacing of Vedic culture and civilization at the ongoing mami Brahmaputra Festival and termed the festival as an assassin of the State’s culture and civilization.
In a press statement, the president and general secretary of the BJSM, Jaklal Basumatary and Jayanta respectively, said that the great civilization of Assam was being suppressed by the RSS-guided BJP ministers to promote Hindutva and glorify the imported Vedic civilization in the land of Mongoloid civilization. They said the tribal Chief Minister of Assam was being used to serve the advancement of Vedic civilization at the cost of security and prosperity of the tribal people of Mongoloid civilization of Assam. They also said the Chief Minister and minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had unconditiolly surrendered the culture and civilization of Assam to Sankari Xatradhikars who were given State honor publicly in the opening ceremony of the mami Brahmaputra festival.
The BJSM rued the fact that Sarma limited the period of civilization of Assam to 500 years only from the 16th century - the year of import of Vedic Vrindavan culture from the Gangetic valley by Sankardev - ignoring the 4,000 years of Kirata Mlechha Bodo civilization of Hasam or Assam. “The Sankari culture is imported Vedic culture, not the indigenous culture of Assam. It has sharply divided the Assamese society as pure and impure. Those who are followers of Sankari amdharma of Vedic tenet are regarded as superior and pure race whereas those who are not followers of Sankari amdharma and Veda tenet are regarded as sinful and impure inferior race. Thus, it perpetuated the hatred and intolerance among the Vedic and non-Vedic communities and created Assamese chauvinism”, they said, adding that the Xattriya dance culture was imported from Vrindavan Krishlila dance culture of Mathura Vrindavan and this had not origited from the Burlungbuthur culture. Thus, the government was wrong to glorify the imported Xattriya culture of Veda tenet in this river festival, ignoring the sons of the soil of Indo-Mongoloid Bodo culture, the said.
The BJSM leaders demanded the State Education Minister to rectify his wrong information of the origin of the me of the River Brahmaputra as son of Hindu bachelor God Brahma instead of the destroyer and creator of Bodo me, Burlung Buthur, publicly through media as he was not supposed to convey wrong information being the State Education Minister, and his vote of thanks speech should be corrected in the official document of the festival. They also said the ongoing mami Brahmaputra Festival was an assassin of the great Kirata-Mlechha Bodo Indo-Mongoloid culture and civilization of Assam. The history and civilization of Assam is origilly and essentially non-Vedic, non-Hindu and non-Aryan. The Indo-Mongoloid Kirata Mlechha Bodo history and civilization is prehistoric, even before the Ramaya and the Mahabharata days, till the British colonial rule in Assam, they said.
BJSM condemned the vote of thanks speech by Himanta Biswa Sarma for deliberately distorting the origin of the me of the Brahmaputra as son of Aryan bachelor God, Brahma connecting to the Vedic Aryan culture based on mention in the Kalika Puran and Yoginitantra of the 14th and 16thcenturies, while completely ignoring the Indo-Mongoloid Bodo origin me Burlung Buthur, connoting the character of the great river Burlung which means to erode indiscrimitely. Buthur means to destroy or to kill and Buthum means to preserve or to create. The destroyer and creator character of the river me Burlungbuthur prevailed much before Vedic Aryan culture advanced in this part of the country.
The press statement said that even in the Yoginitantra it was not connected to the son of Brahma but it was connected to son of Brahmin. The theory based on imagiry story has already been rejected by eminent historians and linguistic scholars who have attributed the me of the great river to the non-Vedic, non-Aryan origin. Dr. S K Chaterjee, linguistic scholar, directly attributes to the Bodo origin ‘Burlam buthur’ from which it was Sanskritized as Brahmaputra in Yoginitantra era in 16th century in the process of preaching the Hindu religion and spreading the Vedic civilization of Gangetic valley in this country of Kirata Mlechha Bodo, non-Vedic, Indo-Mongoloid civilization. Thus, the mami Brahmaputra festival is the festival for victory of Vedic Hindu civilization over the non-Vedic Kirata Mlechha Bodo Indo-Mongoloid origil civilization of Assam, which has been completely murdered and buried in this festival as the contribution of Kirata Mlechha Bodo Indo-Mongoloid civilization has been completely subsided and suppressed, the BJSM leaders lamented.
“The other old me of Burlungbuthur in epics and other classical literature Lauhitya is also Sanskritized from Bodo word ‘Luhit’ or ‘Luhat’, meaning water poured from a high mountain and ‘Dwilao’ or ‘Tilao’ meaning a long river, ‘Dwi’ or ‘Ti’ for water or river and lao for long. Till Ahoms came in 13th century it was known as Dwilao or Tilao in Bodo. The present Luit in modern Assamese is also Sanskritized from Bodo word ‘Lwitw’. ‘Lwi’ means long and ‘tw’ means deep, a long and deep river Lwitw becomes Luit in Assamese,” they said adding that the lush green valley of the 840-km long River Dwilao was known as Ha Shwmkwr or Ha sham in Bodo meaning a lush green valley or land metamorphosed into present Assam. Thus, the Burlungbuthur river civilization is essentially Kirata Mlechha Bodo civilization of Mahabharata fame Pratjwngtisar and Kamrubu country which are Sanskritized as Pragjyotisa and Kamrupa respectively,” they said.
