FROM A REPORTER

SHILLONG, Feb 17: The Bharatiya Jata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Meghalaya on Friday observed that the ibility of NIOS to conduct and mage the training of teachers in a proper manner has created controversies among teachers and NIOS.

“It was seen that the NIOS could not conduct and mage the training in a proper way which has in turn resulted in controversies between the teachers and NIOS,” Egenstar Kurkalang, State President, BJYM Meghalaya on Friday said,

He pointed out that the state government in spite of the grievances faced by the trainee teachers the government has remained silent and dormant without any initiative to solve teacher’s grievances despite several request and approach made by them before the concern authority and to the government respectively.

“The question arises here is: why the government is not willing to intervene this issue with the NIOS despite a huge amount of money which was spent and invested by the government, because as per Project Approval Board (PAB) report the total amount sanctioned and released to Meghalaya is Rs. 14,18,64,000, further 4 years had completed since the date PAB given its approval but till date from 15822 teachers sanctioned for the training , none of them received the Certificate of the training due to faults created by NIOS,” he said.
