SHILLONG, April 8: The BJYM (Bharatiya Jata Yuva Morcha) went to the Office of the Commissioner of Transport and Secretary State Transport Authority to get clarification on the delay to appoint a new Secretary for the last 3 or 4 months. Egenster Kurkalang President BJP youth wing Meghalaya said they got many complaints from Tourist taxi drivers that whenever they go to the Transport office to get their new permit or renewal of their old permit things would get delayed and when asked why the paper works are delayed the answer they would get is because there is no one to sign or to process the files to issue or renew the permits due to the recent retirement of the previous Secretary in the month of December. Egenster Kurkalang said that there are many qualified Officers who can hold the post but why is the Government taking so long to appoint one. He also said that the Government should be more responsible because this will only lead to dismay for the people.
