Blind beggar repeatedly rapes his 10-year-old daughter in Lakhimpur

Police are on the hunt for a blind beggar who was accused of repeatedly accused of raping his own 10-year-old daughter for a span of 4 months in Lakhimpur, Assam. The beggar began molesting his daughter soon after his wife left him in November 2017.

Superintendent of Police, Lakhimpur while speaking to the media said, "Two days ago, some neighbours allegedly caught the accused in the act and thrashed him. However, instead of handing him over to the police, they shot a video of the accused being beaten and uploaded it on social media."

The minor along with her brother were rescued by the police on 22^nd April 2018 when women's association of the locality brought the incident to police's notice. The police are now on the hunt for the blind beggar who has reportedly fled from Lakhimpur after the incident came to light.

The police have handed over the minors to the beggar's relatives. A medical test will be conducted on 23^rd April 2018 to confirm if rape has taken place.
